I'm really excited to launch the new "Sounds of the Gulf Coast" with Dana. I've been working with music just about all of my life, and I'm proud ot the music that was born in Southeast Texas. Our internet broadcast is just that...music that was either born along the Gulf Coast, or has strongly influence our artists. People all over the world recognize Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana for its rich musical heritage. It won't take long for you to hear the broad range of music we're known for. We've broken the traditional radio mold for formats, because you'll hear every kind of music , with just the right mix!
It wasn't by chance that local weatherman Dana Melancon had a friendship with fellow disc jockey and cajun music pioneer John "Tee" Bruce" Broussard. Tee and Dana's Dad were friends, and Tee had introduced Dana to Southeast Texas Mardi Gras. So when Tee had decided to hang up his headphones, it was Dana that he ask to take over his Cajun music show. After a few meetings over coffee...or whatever liquid courage was around...Dana accepted. And with some coaching from Tee, took the show to new levels. Fast forward to 2015. Dana and his beautiful wife Krissy team up every Sunday morning, and bring old time radio to Southeast Texas and to the world from the 105.3 Free FM studios in Beaumont, Texas
